News Nebraska Book Company Signs Multi-Year Bookstore Management Contract with Cleveland State University Wednesday, April 12, 2006 Nebraska Book Company announced today it has signed a multi-year agreement to manage Cleveland State University’s (CSU) on-campus bookstore. The decision to outsource management of the CSU Bookstore is part of the University’s master plan to bring a new look and a bold new vision to the University to better serve the community and the school’s 16,400 students. The agreement with CSU awards management of the 14,500 square foot bookstore to Nebraska Book Company effective June 1, 2006. Nebraska Book Company will also provide bookstore planning and design consultation services as CSU designs a new, or renovates the current, Student Center. Construction of the new CSU Bookstore is scheduled to begin the summer of 2007. “CSU’s request for proposal stated the University was seeking a bookstore management partner to provide competent and sound fiscal management of the bookstore, and at the same time, a partner that would provide high-quality customer service and a well-developed merchandise plan,” said John Callahan, Vice President, Contract Management Services, Nebraska Book Company. “We believe CSU selected Nebraska Book Company because of our ability to deliver the service they require. We are committed to providing CSU with advanced bookstore design and management services for the University’s student population and faculty members as well as the community-at-large.” “The appointment of Nebraska Book Company as our bookstore management partner was a logical decision,” said John Boyle, Vice President for Business Affairs and Finance. “Their proven track record with other bookstores, their commitment to local decision-making, and their philosophy of building bookstores with unique brands that represent the school will enable us to further enhance the CSU Bookstore in our aim to provide high-quality services to our existing faculty, staff and students and further serve the community-at-large.” The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
