Nebraska Book Company Names Steve Clemente President and CEO
Nebraska Book Company (NBC or the Company) and its subsidiaries, an industry leader in solutions for the college bookstore marketplace, today announced the Companys President and Chief Operating Officer, Steve Clemente, has assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer.
Given Clementes extensive experience overseeing Company operations, this change is a natural transition as NBC continues to capitalize on its growth strategy of expanding the college stores and textbook divisions, increasing online sales, and providing unparalleled innovation for the industry.
As a company, we have seen many changes this year. We have new ownership, a new board, and now a new leader at the helm, Clemente said. Im excited about the opportunities we have in front of us and the focus of our team moving forward.
Peter Reed, Chairman of the Board of NBC adds, This change strongly positions us for our long-term strategy. We now have a stronger balance sheet, streamlined reporting structure, and a dedicated and talented management team led by Clemente. I am confident this change in leadership will keep the team energized and focused on executing our business plan.
Clemente joined the Company in 2010 as a SVP of College Stores and has been a driving force in the companys growth. He has focused heavily on expanding the Neebo business, growing market share and developing a campaign to broaden the traditional bookstore offerings. Before joining the Company, Clemente worked for 15 years at Target Corporation, last serving as Vice President of Store Operations, overseeing 82 retail operations in excess of $3 billion.
We have a strong team that is focused on what we do and why we do it, Clemente said. Ultimately the Companys mission is to grow by being the most innovative, welcoming and knowledgeable provider of collegiate products and services.
