Nebraska Book Company Launches Mobile Product Suite

Lincoln, Nebraska
Monday, November 15, 2010

Nebraska Book Company announced today two new products, NBC WebPRISM Mobile™ and NBC WebPRISM SMS™, designed to offer college bookstores a more dynamic mobile strategy and a competitive edge in the marketplace.

NBC WebPRISM Mobile™ automatically converts the store's current website into a mobile optimized version accessible via any cell phone with data service. Extremely fast and easily navigable on a reduced screen size, the mobile version of a store's website expands the reach of the store making it more convenient and efficient for students to shop anytime, anywhere.

Whether students are interested in reserving, purchasing, selling or renting textbooks, finding a sweatshirt for the upcoming game, viewing store hours and contact information or even exploring exclusive mobile coupons, WebPRISM Mobile can deliver your bookstore right to their cell phone the instant they are ready to browse or buy.

NBC WebPRISM Mobile was developed in conjunction with Hothand, Inc.

NBC WebPRISM SMS™ allows students to text in an ISBN number to their local bookstore and, within seconds, receive a text message back with the price at which the store will buy that particular book. WebPRISM SMS makes getting sell back pricing quick, easy and familiar. The text message can also include coupons to further draw the student into the store.

Nate Rempe, Chief Technology Officer, Nebraska Book Company, said: "Nearly every college student today has a cell phone. In addition, smartphones account for more of their electronic communication and computing activity than ever before. To capitalize on this trend and help bookstores gain a competitive edge and better serve students, we launched a comprehensive mobile strategy designed to further position bookstores as an innovative resource for students."
